There's Nothing Normal About Our Cheese, Here's A Little History

 Breaking Cheesy Norms

We are a family-owned business that has been in the heart of Ohio’s Amish country since 1935. Our grandfather, the original owner of Bunker Hill, trained as a master cheesemaker in Switzerland, who then came to the United States in the 1920s to display his artisan talents. The family business continues, to this day, to be one of the premier outlets for our local farmers.

To keep the freshness of our product, we make cheeses Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Given the current state of our society, we are not actively giving guided tours or free cheese samples; however, guests are welcome to provide themselves with a self-guided tour around the facility while the cheese is being made.

We pride ourselves in pleasing our guests with homemade treats from gift boxes, cheeses, specialty meats, chocolates, and other sweets. We offer a variety of cheeses and other delicious goods.

When you think of cheese, where does your mind wander? Does it go to Swiss, cheddar, or other classic flavors? If you have ever imagined different types of cheeses, we are here to help. We offer many styles of cheese, ranging from traditional flavors to lactose-free cheese to goat or spicy cheese. Between the meats and cheeses we offer, you could personalize a charcuterie board while you and your family are on a relaxing getaway to Amish country.

Because we are located in the heart of Holmes County, we are a significant tourist attraction. With rolling hills and great views, our location is perfect all year round for a simple getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Another incentive from visiting us is the short travel time to the other attractions and lodging experiences.

Cheese is for everyone! If you want to experiment with new flavors and unique shops, visit Amish country. And while you are at it, come on over to Heini’s. Visit our website to see what all we offer and see our hours.
